Green Goddess was created as the result of a lifestyle and career change by its founder Angelina. ‘I had reached the point whereby juggling my career and family life was effecting my health. I wasn’t taking great care of myself and stress levels were stratospheric. I reached breaking point and decided to change my entire life and work’. This involved going back to school with qualifications in nutrition and wellness coaching. Setting up a practise, coaching others and launching a superfood brand.
Our product range includes speciality organic food powder blends, superfoods and more recently natural food supplements. We have everything from Vegan hot chocolate, Greenpeas plant protein, a Gym Bunny blend to raw cacao powder and butter. Everything we produce is hand made in the UK, vegan, organic and gluten free.
We believe in the importance of self-care. To slow down and take better care of ourselves whilst supporting others. Being in nature, simplicity, enjoying the moment and making choices that your body and the planet will thank you for.
We interviewed founder of Green Goddess Wellness Angelina to find out more about she stays healthy and well on a daily basis.
01. What would be your typical food diary?
I’m a bowl of porridge a day girl. I start the day with organic oats with either fruit, seeds, nuts and a sprinkle of our ‘Natural Energy’ that gives it all a cacao flavour. Lunch is either soup or salad depending on the time of year. I love making my own soup it’s so simple and tastes far better than shop bought. Dinner is usually a dish based around vegetables, beans and lentils. I don’t eat meat and have a wholefood diet. Balance is key.
02. What’s your typical weekly fitness routine?
I attend classes at the gym 3 times a week. Currently Pilates, yoga and body pump (as painful as it sounds). I also love kundalini yoga and practise this daily at home. I walk every day with my little Frenchie and much prefer to be active outside hiking or cycling.
03. What keeps you feeling motivated?
Knowing that I’m making a difference. Helping people keeps me motivated and I spend lots of time answering customer questions around health issues or wellness goals. I also make sure I get out to events regularly and keep in touch with customers’ needs its very motivating.
04. What’s been the best moment for Green Goddess Wellness to date?
Green Goddess was part of an Entrepreneurial acceleration program supported by NatWest, Dell, Pinsent Masons and KPMG. Mid intake they had a Go Do accelerate award and we were picked as finalists. We had to pitch for 3 minutes to a bank panel, it was scary! At the awards ceremony when we were announced winners it was an amazing feeling. The cash prize also came in handy!
05. Your go to healthy snack?
It has to be our Mum on the Run blend with almond milk and a banana or I make protein balls with our Gym Bunny blend, dates, coconut oil, almonds and pumpkin seeds. They freeze or keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Both are great as a nutritious snack on the go.
06. Who inspires you whether in business or in life?
It has to be my husband. We have worked together for a number of years and his focus and tenacity are inspiring. He surmounts problems with a drive and determination that leads the way. He also brings a good heart into everything he does which is sadly often missing in business.
07. What trends do you see shaping the health and nutrition market?
The continued rise and development of the free from offering. Plant based foods will also continue to pave the way. Sugar free, functional foods and of course developments in healthy snacking.
08. What’s next for Green Goddess Wellness?
We have begun developing a tea and ready to eat snack range. Expanding on our current superfood range and building on our information resource which is very important to us.
