Getting your full daily complement of vitamins and minerals can be a drag. While most of us have the best of intentions about eating well, getting outside and exercising, it doesn’t always work out to plan. That’s why most leading experts recommend we take a daily vitamin supplement.
What are the options though? Some tablets that you conveniently forget to take, or some overpriced chemical flavoured fizz … doesn’t exactly sound like a wonderfully improved solution. What if you could get all the vitamins and minerals you need by just simply drinking your daily cup of coffee, without compromising its flavour? That’s not something you’re likely to ‘forget’ to drink.
Well, at Vitamin Coffee that’s just what’s on offer! Every cup contains your full daily dose of 14 essential vitamins and minerals while tasting great. We also have some targeted blends such as Defence which helps support your immune system and Energy which is a higher caffeine pick-me-up.
Vitamin Coffee was founded by Bryn Ray. After working as a design consultant and fitness professional in London, Bryn started drinking homemade Vitamin Coffee to keep him on top of both his physical and mental game. Amazed with just how effective and convenient it was, he began creating blends for clients and colleagues before eventually taking the leap to share it with the world.
We wanted discover more about the man behind this awesome new coffee brand and so put Bryn in the Wellthos hot seat…
01. What would be your typical food diary?
I generally eat three square meals for both convenience and for the social aspect, but I will snack on fruit and vegetables in-between if I find myself hungry. I typically start the day with a high protein, low carbohydrate breakfast; my go to is 4 poached eggs with 3 chicken sausages and a black vitamin coffee. Lunch can be rather variable as I tend to have meetings over it so it depends on their preference. More often than not, it tends to be salad based and again high in protein, low in carbohydrate. My evening meal tends to be my most substantial and is consumed after a workout. This is usually based on a low GI carbohydrate unless I am eating with my girlfriend and then it nearly always involves mac and cheese.
02. What’s your typical weekly fitness routine?
A typical week consists of four weight sessions and two fitness sessions. The weight sessions have a varying split, focus on hypertrophy and last about one hour. The fitness sessions are based on intervals of running combined with floor exercises (they tend to be at Barry’s Bootcamp).
03. What keeps you feeling motivated?
With regard to exercise, it’s a point of consistency in an otherwise hectic lifestyle. I’m also motivated by how much more energetic it makes me feel.
04. What’s been the best moment for Vitamin Coffee to date?
Selling out of coffee at the national running show. It was satisfying to have the opportunity to watch people’s delight when they realised it actually tastes great too.
